Daniel Ibeling
Builder · Engineer · Founder
Background
I graduated from Stanford University with a degree in economics and a deep curiosity about systems — whether economic, technical, or social. While at Stanford, I balanced academics with competitive athletics as part of the Division I fencing team and founded the Stanford Game Theory Club.
I’ve always been drawn to interdisciplinary thinking, and that’s shaped how I approach problems — combining logic, design, and empathy to create things that work in the real world.
Career
From 2021 to early 2025, I was co-founder and CTO of Callback, a venture-backed startup bridging physical and digital experiences using blockchain. We built secure NFC-based systems that let users mint NFTs by physically scanning devices at events, stores, and venues. Our technology powered projects for Japanese celebrities, global brands, and iconic venues like Tokyo Dome.
As CTO, I led product architecture and engineering, helped raise over $3M in funding, and built a team of 5 engineers. Before that, I worked in research, analytics, and nonprofit leadership, always gravitating toward roles where I could learn quickly and make something meaningful.
Interests
I’m fascinated by history and art — especially Renaissance art, which I explored deeply while studying abroad in Florence in 2018. That experience shaped my appreciation for design, symbolism, and the cultural layers behind aesthetics.
I’m also passionate about blockchain, product development, and the intersection of design and technology. Outside of work, I stay active through fencing, bouldering, and powerlifting, and I have a long-standing interest in sports performance and nutrition.
